The River Cabriel runs through the municipality of Venta del Moro in 50 km of gorges and knives. The ceramic oven found in Casillas del Cura or Salinas de Jaraguas bears witness to the Iberian presence in the area. The village of Venta del Moro, of medieval origin, was built around the Church of the Virgen del Loreto in the 18th century, but there are six other villages within the municipality. The river adventure operators are based in Venta del Moro.
The Hoces del Cabriel National Park is an area of extraordinary environmental value integrated into the Cabriel Valley Biosphere Reserve, which offers absolutely captivating landscapes and a rare biodiversity, with badgers, foxes, wild boar, weasels and even otters. The park is a protected area, a paradise for ornithologists. The cold and crystalline waters of the river are perfect for water sports such as rafting. Numerous trails, ideal for walking or cycling, run through the park and offer stunning views over sickles and knives.
Bonfires are lit on 10 December in honour of the Virgen del Loreto and on 17 January for San Anton. Holy Week, with its pasos, el Encuentro o la Traición de Judas on Easter Sunday, is traditional. On the night of 30 April, the Mayos are sung. In July and August, the summer festivals, with their verbenas.
The municipality of Venta del Moro includes seven villages: Las Monjas, Los Marcos, Jaraguas, Casas del Rey, Casas de Moya and Casas de Prada.
